Today we are stoked to introduce Katie Hawk, owner of Beauty and Barbells located in the Queen Creek Palette Collective. Katie has been a part of the Palette Family since December 2019 and we are so excited to see where this new journey takes her!

Katie, tell us a little about your journey as a hairstylist!

I started doing hair 12 years ago in Wyoming. I moved to Arizona in 2013 and rebuilt my business and clientele. I went from working one day a week and renting a station to opening my own studio at Palette Collective and working full time!

I’m so blessed to work in this industry and have the love and support I’ve had along the way.

Describe your business in three words.

  • Inspiring
  • Artistic
  • Fearless

What advice would you give yourself when you were starting out?

Fate loves the fearless.

Nothing happens over night. It is the small steps everyday in the direction of your dreams, and over time you will be amazed with how far you’ve come. Stay on the course!

What are your hobbies?

I love CrossFit… hence the name Beauty and Barbells. I have been coaching CrossFit for five years.

What is your #1 goal for 2020?

My big goal for 2020 is to buy a house!

You have a plane ticket to ANYWHERE in the world, where would you go?

I have always wanted to go on a yoga retreat to Indonesia! While I am there, I would visit the elephant sanctuary in Bali.

What do you enjoy most about what you do?

The people. My clients who have become my family. The relationships are so much bigger than just their hair.
